Detailed project description
As part of a complete renovation in Küssnacht am Rigi (SZ), the existing heating solution was completely replaced. An efficient CTA OH I 9ec geothermal heat pump was installed, including hot water preparation for a two-person household.
Two Cowa COMPACT Cell 48 buffer storage tanks, which are ideal for surface heating systems such as underfloor heating, were chosen as the heat storage solution. Thanks to their compact design, the two storage tanks together require a footprint of just 0.68 x 0.6 meters, yet still provide a total storage capacity of 20 kWh.
COMPACT Cells support the efficient operation of the heat pump, reduce cycling, and ensure even heat distribution throughout the house. This reference project is a prime example of how a sustainable heating system can be implemented even in confined spaces—without compromising on comfort or efficiency.
The property is still undergoing final renovation work. In the near future, the existing photovoltaic system on the roof will also be connected to convert surplus energy into heat for the night.
